Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers posted a heartfelt message he wrote for his Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) family—particularly Virat Kohli—on June 4th while traveling from Ahmedabad to Johannesburg. The date marked a historic moment in IPL history, as RCB finally clinched their first-ever IPL title after 18 long years.

AB de Villiers also shared a video of his message on his social media account, stating:

“Dear RCB Family, The last night was something that words will never ully do justice to- but i’ll try, because the heart deserves to speak when it’s full.”

RCB Clinch Maiden IPL Title With Dominant Victory

For the first time in 18 IPL seasons, RCB lifted the trophy, this time under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar. After setting a target of 190 for nine, it was the bowlers who played a decisive role, striking at key moments to secure a thrilling 6-run victory and seal the title.

RCB have reached the IPL final four times. They lost in 2009 (vs Deccan Chargers), 2011 (vs CSK), and 2016 (vs SRH). After three heartbreaks, they finally won their maiden title in 2025, defeating their opponents by 6 runs under Rajat Patidar’s captaincy.
