Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Andre Russell pulled out a unique dance move after Pat Cummins’ 15-ball cameo propelled the team to a thrilling win over Mumbai Indians. The Australian cricketer struck four boundaries and six towering sixes to chase down 162 runs with 24 balls to spare.
Cummins, who was playing his first game of the season, took everyone to the cleaners. Kolkata were struggling at 101/5. Pat Cummins accumulated 14 runs off that over from Tymal Mills before scoring another 12 from Jasprit Bumrah‘s next over.
The 28-year-old cricketer from Australia cut loose in the next over, smashing 35 runs off Daniel Sams to clinch the tie. Celebrations began as soon as Pat Cummins launched one over the bowler’s head.
Andre Russell broke into an impromptu dance in front of Pat Cummins after the Australia all-rounder’s scored a record fifty at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. The West Indian all-rounder’s move left everyone bemused including KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan.

While Pat Cummins hogged the limelight, Venkatesh Iyer also played a crucial hand, holding the fort from one end. Opening the innings, the southpaw remained unbeaten on 51 runs off 40 balls.
With this win, Kolkata now have six points in their kitty in four games.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Shreyas Iyer was we-struck by Pat Cummins’ match-winning cameo against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Wednesday.
Shreyas Iyer revealed that he was shocked to see Cummins hit the ball with such ease. Speaking at the post-match press conference, the KKR captain said:
“Extraordinary! I couldn’t believe the way he [Cummins] was hitting the ball. Because yesterday in the nets, he was getting bowled now and I was batting in the nets beside him then.”
The Kolkata franchise will hope to carry on the momentum in the upcoming games as they chase their third IPL title.
