Australian all-rounder Nic Maddinson recently imitated Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling action during a Sheffield Shield game. The Indian pacer, who boasts a unique bowling action, is a global phenomenon and many have seen spotted copying his action.

During a game between Victoria and Western Australia, Maddinson, who plays for the former, copied Bumrah’s action while bowling with left-arm. Bowling over No. 161, Maddinson came over the wicket to Aaron Hardie and during his run-up, one could spot something different.

The steps were shorter, the arms were clattering and on the very first instance, it appeared as if this was Jasprit Bumrah bowling left-arm pacer. The ball landed wide and the batter decided to let it go.

There were smiles on faces all around, including the wicketkeeper and the fielder at first slip, and even the commentators were in splits.

“Well… well bowled Bumrah,” the commentator said on air.

The video went viral immediately it landed on social media with people coming up with hilarious reactions.

Meanwhile, the game ended in a draw but Western Australia were crowned Sheffield Shield winners for only their second Shield title in two decades. They were 400/7, leading Victoria by 480 runs before the players of both teams decided to shake hands.

On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah is currently seen plying trade for Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL 2022. The five-time IPL champions didn’t have a great start to their campaign, losing both their opening games.

“To bowl with Jasprit Bumrah in the nets has been special” – Riley Meredith

Another Australian fast bowler Riley Meredith is relishing the opportunity of bowling alongside Bumrah in the Mumbai training.

Speaking in a video posted by MI on YouTube, Riley Meredith opened up about his experience of sharing the nets with Bumrah. The Aussie said:

“I think at the moment, it’s hard to get past the big ‘Boom Boom’ Bumrah. I have had the opportunity to bowl with him in the nets and it has been special. He is a great fellow and is more than happy to share some tricks with me which is really nice.”
