[WATCH]- Axar Patel’s Funny Response Goes Viral After DC’s Loss To MI In IPL 2025

Despite Delhi Capitals’ (DC) heartbreaking defeat to Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 13, skipper Axar Patel was in top form with his humor. When asked during the post-match presentation where DC lost the game, Axar jokingly replied, “To Mumbai,” taking the question literally.

DC entered the match as the only unbeaten team in IPL 2025 and had control for most of the game. However, a stunning collapse in the final stages led to a 12-run loss. Here’s a video of Axar Patel‘s funny response during the post-match presentation:

Chasing a challenging target of 206, DC delighted their home crowd by reaching 119/1 in the 11th over. Karun Nair, making his first IPL appearance since the 2022 season, played a magnificent innings of 89 off 40 balls, keeping DC in the hunt.

However, his wicket at 135/2 in the 12th over led to a catastrophic collapse, as DC were bowled out for 193 in 19 overs. The match ended in a bizarre sequence, with three run-outs happening within just one run and three balls.

DC’s soft dismissals and collapse lead to loss against MI in IPL 2025

Axar Patel attributed Delhi Capitals’ (DC) narrow home defeat to Mumbai Indians (MI) to the soft dismissals of the middle-order batters. The captain himself contributed to the collapse, scoring just nine runs off six balls while batting at No. 5.

He also struggled with the ball, giving away 19 runs without taking a wicket in his two overs. Reflecting on the loss during the post-match presentation, Axar shared his thoughts (via Cricbuzz):

“We had the game in the bag. Some soft dismissals and bad shots in the middle order. You can’t leave it to the batters in the lower order everytime. Don’t need to overthink, just one of those days. Was happy at the halfway stage. The ball was stopping initially but it got better. And then dew helped us further. Need to forget this game from a batting point of view.”

Delhi Capitals’ (DC) next match is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, 2025, against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
