Australia opener David Warner was involved in a heated argument  with the umpires on day four of the 3rd Test against Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium. The veteran cricketer even asked the umpires to show the rulebook.

The incident took place in the 21st over of the second innings of Australia when David Warner was batting slightly out of his crease. Both the on-field umpires Aleem Dar and Ahsan Raza walked up to him telling him not to run on the centre of the pitch.

The 35-year old wasn’t really happy with the umpires’ interruption as he made his argument saying that he wasn’t doing anything wrong before the discussion turned into a heated exchange.

David Warner suggested that he could bat out of his crease after which he was heard saying,

“You want me to play my shot like this…” on the stump mic while signalling towards the side of the crease.

The umpire Raza replied, “Yes, you have to move.”

“Show me in the rule book where that’s what I’ve got to do. I won’t start until you show me,” Warner was quick to revert.

The animated discussion was caught by the stump mic and the video soon went viral on social media.

Speaking of the game, Pakistan need 274 runs to win with 87 runs remaining for the day’s play with 10 wickets in hand. Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique have got the home side off to a flying start and will hope to chase down the total with plenty of time left in the game.

Australia banked on an unbeaten century from Usman Khawaja and a half-century from David Warner to post 227/3 before declaring the innings to post 351 runs target.

The series is currently tied 0-0 with both Test ending in a draw.
