Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir shared a light moment with former captain Rohit Sharma ahead of the third ODI against New Zealand. With the series level at 1-1, the series decider is set for Sunday, January 18, in Indore. Rohit was observing something while climbing the stairs with his teammates when Gambhir approached him.
The two exchanged a cheerful conversation, sharing laughs, and Ravindra Jadeja soon joined in, adding to the camaraderie. You can watch the video here:

Team India will aim to prevent their first home ODI series defeat to New Zealand in tomorrow’s final match. After a stunning 301-run chase in the opening game, the hosts slipped in the second ODI, managing just 284 in their 50 overs, which New Zealand comfortably chased down by seven wickets in the 48th over.
Rohit Sharma’s Blazing ODI Form Cools In New Zealand Series
Rohit Sharma entered the ODI series against New Zealand in blistering form, having recently become the No. 1-ranked ODI batter globally. The 38-year-old amassed 194 runs in the three-match series in Australia, his first after retiring from Tests. Even though India lost the series 1-2, Rohit was named Player of the Series for his stellar performances.
He maintained his momentum to close out the 2025 season, scoring 146 runs in the three-match home ODI series against South Africa. Rohit notched half-centuries in the first and third ODIs, helping India secure victories in both and clinch the series 2-1. However, his form has dipped in the ongoing New Zealand ODIs, as he has failed to pass 30 in either match, though he reached the twenties on both occasions.
Heading into the series decider, Rohit averages a modest 25 at a strike rate of 74.62. The former captain has also dropped from the top of the ICC ODI rankings, ceding the No. 1 spot to teammate Virat Kohli and falling to third place.
