In the end, David Miller and Rahul Tewatia turned out to be the match-winners for GT, as their stellar partnership of 79* runs off 40 balls was enough for GT.
Other than the win, GT had another reason to rejoice as it was Gujarat Foundation Day, marking 62 years since the formation of the state of Gujarat. The GT official social media handles shared a video of players who seemed to be relishing the celebration, posing in traditional Gujarati outfits. The celebration took place on Sunday evening at the team hotel, where players and support staff tasted some elite Gujarati food and grooved to the music, and performed the Gujarati folk dance ‘Dandiya’.
