India captain Harmanpreet Kaur put on a brilliant display with the bat in the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup match against Australia on Sunday, June 28, at the iconic Lord’s. With India needing a win to stay alive in the tournament, the skipper stepped up when it mattered most.
After winning the toss, India chose to bat first and posted a strong total of 170/4. Harmanpreet provided the late fireworks in the final over. She began by smashing Sophie Molineux straight down the ground for a six on the second ball. On the next delivery, she made room and launched another six over long-off, bringing up her half-century in style.
She wasn’t done yet. Harmanpreet hit another six on the fourth ball, sending it over extra cover. Phoebe Litchfield got a hand to the ball but couldn’t hold on, as it cleared the boundary for Harmanpreet’s third consecutive six.
