During the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 final between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans at the National Stadium in Karachi on Monday, March 18, Imad Wasim, the prominent all-rounder for Islamabad United, was captured smoking on camera.

A video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) depicted Imad smoking in the dressing room after finishing his spell.

The occurrence happened in the 18th over following Imad’s impressive performance, where he claimed figures of 5/23, including four wickets in just two overs during his four-over spell. “I think they are 20-25 runs short” –Imad Wasim believes Islamabad United can chase down 160 against Multan Sultans in the PSL 2024 final

Imad Wasim believes Islamabad United can successfully chase the 160-run target set by Multan Sultans. The all-rounder noted that Sultans missed the mark by 20-25 runs on a pitch favorable to batting. He mentioned adjusting his bowling pace to capitalize on the conditions.

“Feels really good. As a bowling unit, we did really well. I think they are 20-25 runs short. This is a really good wicket to bat. I bowled a bit slower today, and that helped. This is a final, but I want to take it just like any other game.”

He continued: “We play cricket day in, day out, so we don’t need to do anything fancy. It is an under-par total. They did really well with Iftikhar, but we’ll fancy chasing 160.”

Multan Sultans, the runners-up in the past two seasons, aim to secure their second PSL title since 2021. Meanwhile, Islamabad United, two-time champions in 2016 and 2018, seek their third PSL trophy.
