Jasprit Bumrah’s Fiery Yorker Castles Matthew Short For Golden Duck In 2nd T20I
Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah produced a sensational yorker to dismiss Matthew Short during the second T20I between India and Australia at Melbourne on Friday, October 31. Short was removed for a golden duck, as Bumrah struck twice in two balls, also claiming the wicket of Mitchell Owen.

The dismissal occurred in the 13th over of Australia’s chase when Bumrah delivered a sharp inswinging yorker aimed at the stumps. Short, late to bring his bat down, was beaten by the pace as the ball sneaked under his defence and rattled the timber.

Jasprit Bumrah, renowned for his knack of delivering unplayable yorkers across all formats, showcased his skill once again in the second T20I, finishing with impressive figures of 2 for 26.

Aussies Win by Four Wickets Despite Twin Strikes from Bumrah, Varun & Kuldeep

Jasprit Bumrah, along with spinners Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav, claimed two wickets each as India tried to defend 125 against Australia in the second T20I. Despite their efforts, the hosts cruised to victory by four wickets with 6.4 overs to spare, taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. The Indian bowling trio will aim to carry their form into the third T20I in Hobart on November 2.

For Australia, skipper Mitchell Marsh led the chase with a blistering 46 off 26 balls, smashing four sixes and two fours. Travis Head (28 off 15), Josh Inglis (20 off 20), and Mitchell Owen (14 off 10) provided useful support in the run chase. Earlier, after being asked to bat first, India were bowled out for 125 in 18.4 overs.

Abhishek Sharma, the top-ranked T20I batter, fought hard with a brilliant 68 off 37 balls, featuring eight boundaries and two sixes. Harshit Rana, promoted to No. 7, contributed 35 from 33 deliveries and was the only other Indian to reach double figures.

Josh Hazlewood was the standout performer with the ball for Australia, returning impressive figures of 3 for 13, while Xavier Bartlett and Nathan Ellis chipped in with two wickets apiece.
