Shubman Gill’s bad run continues in IPL 2021. Against Rajasthan Royals too, Gill threw his wicket away. KKR came into this game on the back of three straight losses. Against Rajasthan, KKR lost the toss yet again and were asked to bat first. They made a cautious start which was not the case against CSK. They scored 25 runs in the powerplay.

Meanwhile, in the final over of the batting powerplay, Shubman Gill lost his wicket via a run-out. Gill never looked comfortable and he tries to steal a non-existent single only to find himself short of the crease. Fizz nails the yorker on off-stump, Gill jams it out towards cover and calls for the single, Buttler runs to his right, picks the ball and under-arms the throw onto the stumps – all this in one motion. Gill put in the dive and was still more than a yard short. So the drop chance early on does not cost RR much.

Both KKR and RR are on a bit of losing streak. KKR won their first game and then lost three games straight. Rajasthan, on the other end, beat Delhi Capitals and lost all their remaining games.
