Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Jos Buttler plucked a one-handed stunning catch to get rid of Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Shikhar Dhawan. The left-hander had to go back to the pavilion cheaply at the Wankhede Stadium.

Punjab Kings openers Shikhar Dhawan and Johnny Bairstow began the match proceedings. The duo started off cautiously scoring just 17 runs in the first three overs. However, then Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan began to accelerate, by taking on the bowlers. Punjab Kings quickly raced to 46 in the first five overs.

In the final over of the powerplay, Ravichandran Ashwin sent back Shikhar Dhawan off a length ball outside off-stump. Dhawan came down the track and tried to flick the ball in the air. However, could not get to the pitch of the ball.

Jos Buttler who was standing mid-on, back-peddled and timed his jump perfectly, to complete a stunning catch. Dhawan had to walk back to the pavilion scoring 12 runs off 16 balls, including two boundaries.

Punjab Kings won the toss and opt to bat

Earlier in the match, Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bat first. Skipper Mayank Agarwal expressed that the wicket might slow down as the game progresses, and assist spinners. He also praised Liam Livingstone‘s match-winning cameo in the last match.

“Looks like a good wicket, might get slower as the game progresses. It is important to understand the conditions. It might turn in the second innings. Fantastic from Liam to go out there and do what he did, I am glad,” said Mayank Agarwal. The Punjab Kings are unchanged.

On the other hand, Sanju Samson, who lost his tenth toss of the season, made one change to the playing XI. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal replaced Karun Nair. Both the Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals must be eyeing a win, to consolidate their position in the points table.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Royals have scored 88 runs in the first ten overs of the match. Johnny Bairstow is unbeaten on 44 along with Bhanu Rajapaksa at the crease.
