Hong Kong cricketer Kinchit Shah didn’t had a great outing in the Asia Cup 2022 fixture agaiants India, but he made the outing memorable for himself by proposing to his girlfriend after the game got over. The videos and photos of the same have gone viral across all social media platforms.
Chasing a mammoth 193 runs set by India, Babar Hayat gave the Hong Kong side some hope with his breathtaking batting. Kinchit Shah came out to bat at No. 4 and scored 30 off 28 deliveries, including two boundaries and a six.
He was dismissed in the 18th over by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, while trying to press the gears. The Indian bowlers held nerves in the final overs to take the game home and book a Super Four berth.
Soon after the match, Kinchit Shah went on his knees in the stands in front of his girlfriend with a ring in his hand. His girlfriend was delighted with the proposal and immediately said yes to him.

Incidentally, we have seen a couple of cricketers going down on their knees in the stadium to propose to their girlfriends. India all-rounder Deepak Chahar also proposed his girlfriend at the same ground after a Chennai Super Kings game during IPL 2021. The couple are now married.

Riding on a batting masterclass from Suryakumar Yadav (68* off 26) and Virat Kohli (59* off 44), India posted a mammoth target of 192. It was enough for them to seal a victory as Hong Kong fell 40 runs short and progress through to the next stage.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma was in awe of Suryakumar’s brilliance with the bat. Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, Rohit stated:
“The kind of innings he played today, the words will be short. We have seen that with him every now and then. He comes up with suck kinds of knocks. He just comes out and bats fearlessly which is what the team expects from him. Some of the shots he played today, those are not written anywhere in the book. It was very pleasing to watch.”
