[Watch] Kuldeep Yadav Pulls Off A Stunning Catch Of His Own Bowling To Dismiss Umesh Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav came back to haunt his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with a stunning all-round display at the Brabourne Stadium. However, emotions got the better of him when he pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Umesh Yadav to complete a four-wicket haul.

The incident took place in the final ball of Kuldeep’s spell. The spinner was pumped having dismissed Pat Cummins and Sunil Narine earlier in the same over. However, with the asking rate mounting, Umesh Yadav unleashed a slog sweep off the first ball. Kuldeep Yadav gave some air to the googly, induing a big top edge.

The ball went miles high into the sky, ballooning away towards the mid-on region. Kuldeep and Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant both ran towards the ball. But the spinner was confident and made a loud call before putting in a well-stretched dive to pluck it out a stunning catch.

Kuldeep was emotionally charged up as he celebrated the wicket. He gave a tight hug to Pant to vent out his frustration. Incidentally, Kuldeep Yadav hit the rock bottom and lost his rhythm after KKR benched him for almost two seasons. The Uttar Pradesh-born cricketer will be a happy man to put his best feet forward against the Kolkata franchise.

Kuldeep Yadav eventually ended the spell at 35/4 as Kolkata Knight Riders got all out to 171 runs, losing by 44 runs.

Delhi Capitals secure crucial win against KKR

Asked to bat first, David Warner and Prithvi Shaw set the tone, while Rishabh Pant continued the onslaught to decimate the KKR bowlers. Only Sunil Narine held his own, while the others all got belted around. Shardul Thakur and Axar Patel smashed 39 runs off the last 12 balls to power Delhi Capitals to 215 runs.

In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders failed to keep up with the asking rate and it kept mounting. Skipper Shreyas Iyer tried to steer the run chase but lacked partners at the other end. Along with Kuldeep, Khaleel Ahmed chipped in with three wickets while Shardul Thakur returned with two scalps to seal the deal for their side.
