Pacer Mohammed Shami shared light hearted moment with Cheteshwar Pujara after dismissing the batter for a duck in the four-day warm-up match at the Grace Road in Leicester. He jumped and hugged Cheteshwar Pujara to celebrate the wicket.

Cheteshwar Pujara is representing the Leicestershire team in the warm-up match. He walked out to bat at his usual position of number three. However, could not manage to score any run as he was dismissed for a six-ball duck by Mohammed Shami.ย

The Indian pacer bowled a back-of-the-length delivery, to which Pujara tried to play a backfoot punch. However, he chopped it onto his stumps. Shami gave a send-off to the batter, by running towards him, jumping, and hugging him as Pujara walked back.

Mohammed Shami has been the pick of the bowlers, with three wickets. Earlier in the match, India declared at 246/8. KS Bharat was the leading run-scorer with 70 runs off 111 balls, including eight boundaries and one six.

Cheteshwar Pujara makes a comeback to India’s test team

Cheteshwar Pujara is making a comeback to the Indian test team. He was dropped from the squad for the Sri Lanka test series, after his inconsistent run at the International level. The right-hander played for Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy and later for Sussex in the County Championship.

Pujara scored a couple of double centuries and two hundred in seven-innings at an average of 143 in the County Championship. His brilliant run for Sussex earned him a comeback call for India. However, it will be interesting to see if Cheteshwar Pujara makes it to the playing XI.

The fifth rescheduled match is all set to take place at the Edgbaston in Birmingham starting from July 1. The Indian team is leading the five-match test series 2-1 after the first four tests last year.
