Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round performance helped CSK beat RCB by 69 runs to get to the top of the points table. In the process, they have also ended RCB’ winning streak in four back to back games in the season so far. He took 3/13 and one of his wickets was the Big Show Glenn Maxwell who scored 22 off 15 balls. MS Dhoni and Jadeja plotted the downfall of Maxwell and it immediately paid dividends.
MS Dhoni asked Jadeja not to give too much toom to Glenn Maxwell to have a free swing with his bat. Listening to Dhoni’s advice carefully, Jadeja bowled a ball that came in with the angle and dislodged the bails to dismiss Maxwell.

He then dismissed AB De Villiers which was an off spinners dream delivery. The ball pitched in the leg stump and turned big to castle De Villiers’ middle stump. These two back to back dismissals took aay all the momentum from RCB’s chase who fell short by 69 runs in the end.
Earlier in the game, Ravindra Jadeja’s 28 ball 62 triggered CSK to 191/4. Jadeja took 37 from Harshal Patel’s 20th over to help the side get over 190. Earlier in the game Faf Du Plessis (50) and Ruturaj Gaikwad added 74 for the first wicket to give CSK a good start. Jadeja’s innings was just the perfect icing on the cake. He also became the first CSK player and 10th player overall to score 50+ runs and take three or more wickets in an innings in IPL. Jadeja was also chosen as the Man of the Match for his match-winning contribution.
This is the first time in the first two weeks of the IPL that RCB has been dethroned from the pole position of the IPL 2021 points table. RCB now move onto Ahmedabad for the next few games of their IPL 2021 campaign. They face Delhi Capitals next. CSK, o the other end, play their next four games in Delhi.
