[Watch] Navdeep Saini Injures Himself While Taking Ishan Kishan’s Catch

Rajasthan Royals (RR) fast bowler Navdeep Saini has hurt himself badly while picking up a catch during their game against Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil Sports Academy. The initial scenes didn’t look good but Saini gathered himself to walk out of the ground.

The incident took place in the last ball of the 13th over. Trent Boult pitched one short and Ishan Kishan latched onto it. However, the pull shot found Navdeep Saini, who was positioned at the fine leg region.

Saini had some ground to cover and did so to take a wonderful low catch. However, he also landed by bumping his head and that’s why he was lying without much reaction for a while.

Navdeep Saini later walked out of the ground with the physio with Jimmy Neesham coming in as a replacement fielder.

Speaking of the game, Tilak Verma and Ishan Kishan scored breathtaking half-centuries to put Mumbai Indians in line to chase down the 194-run target set by Rajasthan Royals.

But the Royals made a superb comeback on the back of a couple of wickets to put the five-time IPL champion on the backfoot.

Rajasthan Royals post 193 runs riding on Jos Buttler’s 100

Asked to bat first, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal fell early. Jos Buttler took off with a 26-run over from Basil Thampi. Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson looked good until he mishit Kieron Pollard, but Shimron Hetmyer revived the innings with another 26-run over, this time from Pollard.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled a stunning 3-run 19th over that saw three wickets fall. Tymal Mills finished off with a three-fer too but by then Jos Buttler had propelled Rajasthan to 193 runs with a breathtaking century.
