Watch- Nepal Wicketkeeper Displays ‘Spirit Of Cricket’ Against Ireland

Ireland, Nepal, United Arab Emirates, and Oman are currently competing in a Quadrangular T20I series. On Monday, Ireland took on Nepal at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground, Oman. A heartwarming gesture from the Nepal wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh during the match caught the attention of fans.

Sheikh decided to not run out Ireland’s Andy McBrine, who accidenatally collided with Nepal pacer Kamal Singh Airee, while attempting to take a single during the 19th over. The on-air commentators appreciated Aasif for upholding the spirit of cricket.

“I’ve got goosebumps here in the commentary box because that’s a touching moment. It was accidental, and he could have run him out here, and Aasif Sheikh has said No, he’s not going to do it because of the spirit of the game. That’s your nominee for the Spirit of Cricket Award for 2022 for the ICC.”, one of the commentators said.
