Multan Sultans pacer Ubaid Shah found himself in a funny and unexpected moment during their PSL 2025 match against Lahore Qalandars in Multan on Tuesday, April 22. While celebrating a wicket, he accidentally slapped wicketkeeper Usman Khan on the head.

Ubaid had just dismissed a well-set Sam Billings on the last ball of the 15th over, with the English batter falling for a quick 43 off 23 balls, caught by Kamran Ghulam at cover. Fired up after the breakthrough, Ubaid went to high-five Usman but ended up smacking him on the head instead. The keeper looked slightly hurt by the unexpected hit.

Notably, Billings had smashed two sixes off Ubaid Shah in the same over, which might explain the bowler’s overly intense and passionate celebration after taking his wicket.

Multan Sultans secured their first win of PSL 2025 by defeating Lahore Qalandars by 33 runs on Tuesday, successfully defending a 229-run target. Ubaid Shah delivered an exceptional performance, taking three wickets. He dismissed Sam Billings, Fakhar Zaman, and Daryl Mitchell, finishing with figures of 4-0-37-3.

He is also the team’s leading wicket-taker this season, with six wickets at an economy rate of 9.50 from three matches. Yasir Khan was named Player of the Match for his brilliant 87-run knock off 44 balls. Despite the win, Multan Sultans remain at the bottom of the PSL 2025 points table, with just one victory from four matches.

Muhammad Rizwan and his team will be back in action on Wednesday, April 23, when they face Islamabad United in Multan. With their losing streak finally broken, they will look to build on the momentum and secure more points.
