India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was spotted at Centre Court during Wimbledon 2025, where he took part in a light-hearted Q&A session amid the prestigious tournament. When asked which tennis player could replicate his trademark scoop shot played behind the stumps, Pant named none other than Serbian legend Novak Djokovic.

Pant, a left-hander known for his fearless strokeplay, has frequently used the scoop shot in the ongoing Test series against England, particularly against spinners—much to the amusement of commentators and fans. He has also tried the same shot against fast bowlers in the past, often losing his balance in humorous fashion.

In a video posted by Wimbledon on Instagram, Pant, dressed in a stylish ensemble, shared his answer with a smile:

“I think Djokovic can definitely pull it off.”

Rishabh Pant Emerges As Third-Highest Run-Scorer In Ongoing Series Against England

Rishabh Pant has been in exceptional touch during the first two Tests against England. He kicked off the series with twin centuries at Headingley, though India ended up on the losing side in that match. In the next Test at Edgbaston, Pant scored just 25 in the first innings but bounced back with a brisk 65 in the second, playing a key role in setting England a challenging target of 608.

India went on to register a dominant 336-run victory on day five at Edgbaston—their first-ever Test win at the venue. Pant has amassed 342 runs across four innings so far, averaging an impressive 85.50 in the series. With the third Test set to begin at Lord’s on Thursday, July 10, Team India will be aiming to seize a 2-1 lead.

Notably, India had also defeated England the last time they met at Lord’s, adding to their confidence ahead of the clash.
