India opener Rohit Sharma produced a brilliant innings in the third ODI against England at Lord’s, bouncing back in style after a string of low scores and retirement speculation with a memorable century. Rohit looked positive from the outset and reached his half-century with consecutive boundaries.
In the 21st over, he moved well across the stumps to paddle the fourth delivery fine for a boundary. After the shot, Rohit shared a light-hearted exchange with his opening partner, Shubman Gill, seemingly asking whether he should attempt the same stroke once again.
“Ek aur maru? Ek aur maru same?,” (Should I hit one more? Should I hit one more same?) he was heard asking Gill.
Gill asked Rohit whether the shot would connect properly and not become a cross-batted stroke. Rohit replied that it would and played the same shot again.

Trusting his instincts, Rohit Sharma attempted the lap shot again on the very next delivery. Reading the full-length ball early, he moved across the stumps and guided it fine for another boundary, bringing up his half-century in style.
Rohit Sharma Smashes Historic Century At Lord’s
Rohit Sharma bounced back in style with a record-breaking century at Lord’s. He became the first Indian batter to score an ODI hundred at the iconic venue, surpassing Sourav Ganguly’s previous highest score of 90, set in 2004.
The veteran opener brought up his 34th ODI century with a boundary before finishing with a superb 138 off 110 balls, an innings featuring 17 fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 125.45. He reached the three-figure mark in just 84 deliveries, registering the third-fastest ODI century at Lord’s.
At 39 years and 80 days, Rohit also became the oldest batter to score an international century at Lord’s and the oldest Indian to register a century across all formats. It was also his eighth ODI hundred in England, the most by any visiting batter in the country.
