Yesterday Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer injured his shoulder badly while fielding in IPL 2020. During the early stages of Rajasthan Royals run chase, Iyer was fielding at mid-off when the incident transpired. The Delhi Capitals skipper showed commitment and executed a full stretched dive by putting his body on the line.

It was in the 5th over when Iyer tried stopping a well-timed shot from Ben Stokes while fielding at mid-off. When Iyer saw the ball going away from him he performed a desperate plunge to save four runs for his side. He was successful in saving the runs however he jammed his left shoulder and instantly looked in trouble.

As soon as Shreyas Iyer made contact with the ground he seemed in severe pain and was seen clutching his shoulder. The DC physio Patrick Farhat rushed in to check the damage done by Iyer to his shoulder. The injury looked serious and the DC captain was taken off the field to the dressing room.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer shared a story on his Instagram of him undergoing remedy for his damaged shoulder on his road to recovery. The laser treatment the physio of DC was practising looked insane and quite similar to what is spotted in several sci-fi flicks.

It was good to see that Iyer looked cheerful even after hurting his shoulder which is a good sign for his IPL franchise.

Coming back to the match, Shikhar Dhawan was handed the captaincy in the absence of Iyer. The opening batsman did a commendable job by leading the side as he made some successful key changes in the bowling department.

The deadly duo of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje was once again at their best in the death overs. Rajasthan Royals ultimately short by 12 runs and DC moved to the top of IPL 2020 table.
