The Delhi Capitals are currently facing Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020 at Dubai International stadium. The DC skipper Shreyas Iyer led from the front with the bat as he scored a well-compiled half-century. With wickets falling around him Iyer held one end up and anchored the DC batting.

He ultimately scored 53 runs and performed a pivotal role in taking his side to a competitive total of 161. However early in the Royals chase the skipper of Delhi Capitals hurt his shoulder while fielding. It was in the 5th over when Iyer tried stopping a firm push from Ben Stokes while fielding at mid-off.

When Shreyas Iyer saw the ball going away from him he executed a full stretched dive to save four runs for his side. He was successful in saving the runs however he jammed his left shoulder and immediately looked in trouble.

As soon as Iyer made contact with the ground he seemed in severe pain and was seen clutching his shoulder. The DC physio Patrick Farhat rushed in to check the damage done by Shreyas Iyer to his shoulder. The injury looked serious and the DC captain was taken off the field to the dressing room.

Meanwhile, this is certainly unfortunate news for Delhi Capitals as Rishabh Pant is already out of action after suffering a hamstring injury. It will be intriguing to see whether Iyer takes a chance and comes out to on the field for remaining overs of the match.

Furthermore, in Iyer’s absence, Shikhar Dhawan is currently the stand-in captain for Delhi Capitals. Speaking at the end of the game, Dhawan said that Shreyas Iyer has some pain but is being able to move his shoulder. He also added that they will get a report tomorrow.

“He’s in pain but his shoulder is moving. We’ll get proper report tomorrow,” Shikhar Dhawan said.
