Kings XI Punjab have got the much-needed boost with their pace spearhead, Sheldon Cottrell, who has recovered from his hamstring injury. The fast bowler from West Indies will be available for selection against Royal Challengers Bangalore scheduled to take place on October 15.
Cottrell, who has had a decent start to his IPL campaign missed Punjab’s last game Kolkata Knight Riders. The veteran all-rounder from England Chris Jordan replaced him in the playing XI but could have much of an impact. Speaking at the end of the game, KL Rahul had mentioned that Sheldon Cottrell might miss a couple of matches.

But the fast bowler has recovered fast and will be back in action from Kings XI Punjab’s next encounter. He has already attended the training session and bowled a bit in the nets. It will be a massive boost for Punjab, who is in desperate need of a win.
The last time Punjab played Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sheldon Cottrell starred with the ball picking two wickets. He removed Devdutt Padikkal and skipper Virat Kohli helping Kings XI Punjab script their only win in IPL 2020. Moreover, Sheldon Cottrell has looked threatening with the new ball and will hope to be at his best in the must-win game.
Punjab are currently at the bottom of the points table with only one win from seven matches. They need to win all their remaining games to give a slight chance of making it to the playoffs.
In other news, star batsman Chris Gayle has also recovered from food poisoning and might play his first IPL 2020 game against Royal Challengers Bangalore. All-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who has blown hot and cold so far in the tournament, is likely to make way for the Universe Boss.
