[WATCH] Suryakumar Yadav Imitates Jasprit Bumrah’s Bowling At T20 WC 2026 Event

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was in a light-hearted mood during the T20 World Cup 2026 Captain’s Carnival in Mumbai on Thursday, February 5. He delighted the crowd by comically recreating teammate Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling action.

A video that surfaced on social media shows Suryakumar copying Bumrah’s unique run-up and delivery stride during the event, quickly grabbing attention online. The Indian skipper also went a step further by mimicking the fast bowler’s trademark celebration after releasing the ball.

The clip has since gone viral. You can watch the video here:

Suryakumar Yadav made a strong return to form in India’s recently concluded five-match home T20I series against New Zealand. The aggressive batter had been under intense scrutiny after a run of below-par performances at the international level.

However, the 35-year-old answered his critics in style, earning the Player of the Series award after scoring 242 runs in five innings at a staggering strike rate of 196.74. India wrapped up the series with a commanding 4–1 triumph.

“No Doubt” – Ex-Australia Captain Backs Suryakumar Yadav’s Form

Former Australia captain Michael Clarke said that Suryakumar Yadav rediscovering his touch was a significant positive for India in the build-up to the T20 World Cup 2026. He подчеркed that the explosive batter is an established force in T20 cricket and felt his comeback in form was only a matter of time.

Clarke stated (via Revsportz):

“I think it’s a huge advantage, no doubt (Suryakumar back in form). But it’s cricket; you can’t make runs every time you walk out and bat. T20 cricket is probably the hardest format in which to find form again because you don’t really have time. In T20 cricket, no matter if you’re in form or out of form, making runs or not making runs, you’ve got to look to score straight away.”

“I think he’s an unbelievable player, certainly in this format. It’s surely an advantage that he’s back in form. But yeah, I don’t think there was any doubt that he was going to be able to turn it around.”
