Team India is gearing up for the upcoming 2022 ICC T20 World Cup 2022, which will begin on October 16 in Australia. Veteran batter Virat Kohli hit the nets along with the rest of the teammates on Friday at the Western Australia Cricket Association ground in Perth ahead of the mega-event.

Team India, led by Rohit Sharma departed for Australia on Thursday, October 6, and began their training. A video from India’s training session is going viral on social media. The video features former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who is toiling hard in the nets. Kohli is seen honing his skills, playing the pull shot, the glance shot, and also the drive to perfection.

After a long slump in his batting form, Virat Kohli has made a fantastic comeback. In the recently concluded T20I series against South Africa, he slammed 52 runs in two matches at a strike rate of 140.54. This year, he averages 44.09, scoring 485 runs in fourteen matches, with a century and four half-centuries to his name. Virat Kohli will be keen to continue his good run in the T20 World Cup for India.

Team India to play warm-up matches ahead of 2022 T20 World Cup

Team India is all set to play two T20 warm-up matches against Western Australia XI at the W.A.C.A Ground in Perth. The first of the two matches will take place on October 10. Meanwhile the second will take place on October 13. The Rohit Sharma-led team will also play two official T20 World Cup warm-up matches.

India will take on Australia on October 17 in Brisbane. This will be followed by the second against New Zealand on October 19 at the same venue. They have been placed in Group 2 alongside, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, and two teams from the qualifiers. They will kick off their campaign on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium against arch-rivals Pakistan.
