After the third and final Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), Hasan Ali reacted strongly to a fan mocking his ability to catch the ball.

While Hasan was autographing for fans, someone from the stands made fun of his catching skills by saying:

“Come here, let me teach you how to catch.”

Hasan promptly approached the section where the fan was seated and replied:

“Sure, come here. Who will teach me how to catch?”

It’s important to recall that Hasan Ali faced significant criticism for dropping a crucial catch of Matthew Wade during Pakistan’s heartbreaking loss in the 2021 T20 World Cup semi-final.

Hasan had a tough time in Sydney, failing to take any wickets in his 25 overs. His performance in the previous Melbourne Test was also underwhelming, securing only two wickets in both innings combined.

Before the Australia Tests, Hasan had a decent World Cup, with nine wickets in six matches. However, despite his efforts, Pakistan won only four out of nine games, falling short of the semi-final.

Pakistan faced yet another clean sweep in the Test series in Australia

Pakistan’s struggles in Test matches in Australia persisted as they endured a 3-0 whitewash in the recently concluded tour. The team, having never secured a Test series victory in Australia and last winning a match in 1995-96, displayed commendable effort in the last two games despite the ultimate outcome.

Following a substantial 360-run defeat in the opening match in Perth, Pakistan remained competitive throughout the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. Unfortunately, a series of late wickets disrupted their spirited run-chase, leading to a 79-run shortfall and conceding the series.

In the final Test in Sydney, Pakistan managed to secure a 14-run lead in the first innings. However, their typical collapse during the second innings resulted in them being dismissed for a meager 115.

Australia successfully pursued the target of 130 with eight wickets remaining, securing a 3-0 whitewash in the series.

Although the quest for a Test series victory in Australia remains unfulfilled, Pakistan is shifting its focus to the T20 World Cup in June. Under Shaheen Afridi’s captaincy in T20Is, Pakistan will commence a five-match series against New Zealand, commencing this Friday.
