Bowling has been the weakest link in the arsenal of Royal Challengers Bangalore over the years, however, this time around it wears a different look to it. Moreover, in the words of RCB spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who spoke to Cricbuzz recently, the team has sorted out its death bowling for the season.

Chahal, who has been playing for the franchise for six years believes that the team has covered all the bases this season.

“We have sorted out our bowling in the death overs. We have Dale (Steyn) sir, (Navdeep) Saini, (Chris) Morris and Umesh (Yadav) bhaiya and are not worried about bowling the last few overs because everyone is ready and on wickets here, (in UAE) spinners too can chip in with a couple of overs,” said Chahal to the website regarding sorting out the bowling attack.

The leg-spinner from Haryana also pointed out that the spinners in the side namely, Washington Sundar, Moeen Ali, Shahbaz Ahmed including himself makes RCB a potent attack with its mix of experienced pacers.

Chahal praises Zampa

Chahal also stressed on the addition of Adam Zampa to the squad who has been roped in as a replacement for Kane Richardson. It will be really interesting to see how the two leggies bowl in tandem.

“Zampa is a wonderful legspinner who comes with a lot of experience. He has also played in India, and the wickets here are similar to those back home. His arrival has strengthened our attack because he comes fresh from international duty in the T20 format,” said Chahal.

RCB, who are based in Dubai will play their first game of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Incidentally, it was SRH who had the better off the Virat Kohli-led side in the 2016 IPL final. Kohli scored 973 runs in that season, which is the most runs scored by any player in the history of the league in a single season.

If Virat Kohli can match his 2016 heroics for his side in the UAE, RCB can fancy themselves of winning their first-ever IPL title.
