India and England would face off each other in the last Test match at Edgbaston in Birmingham, starting from July 1. India are currently leading the series by 2-1. The Indian team would look to win the last match and win the Test series in England after a span of 15 years. The last time India won the Test series in England in 2007 under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid.

The 5th Test match of the series got postponed last year due to the COVID outbreak in Indian camp. Ravi Shastri was the coach of the Indian team last year. However, this year Rahul Dravid would be present with the Indian team as coach. The former Indian captain is pretty much optimistic of his team’s chances in the last Test.

Rahul Dravid was pleased with the preparation of the Indian team for the last test match. Dravid feels that India ticked all the boxes in the warm up game against Leicestershire XI. It would be a good contest against the England team who has won the series by 3-0 against World Test Champions.

In a video posted by Leicestershire Foxes, Rahul Dravid said, “I think whatever we needed to achieve and whatever boxes we needed to tick in terms of our preparation leading into the Test match on Friday, I think we are very satisfied and happy, we have been able to do that this week.”

“You have to get your act together from first day” – Rahul Dravid

Indian opener KL Rahul has already been ruled out of the last test against England due to groin injury. Captain Rohit Sharma too is in doubt for the last test against England due to COVID. Rahul Dravid believes that the Indian team will have to bring their A game from the first day itself because it’s a one off test match.

“When you have got just one game or one-off game in a series, its not really a lot of time, you’ve got to hit the ground running hard and you’ve got to be able to hopefully get your act together right from the first day of the Test match,” Coach Dravid added in the interview.
