Rajasthan Royals (RR) cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal was seen engaging in a fun banter with teammate Ravichandran Ashwin on Wednesday (March 16). Both cricketers will be seen plying trade for the Royals in IPL 2022, starting March 26.

Chahal changed base from Royal Challengers Bangalore while Ashwin was part of Delhi Capitals last season. While the veteran leg-spinner was purchased for INR 6.5 crore, the off-spinner was picked up for ₹5 crore.

Recently, Yuzvendra Chahal, who took over Rajasthan Royals’ social media account, poked fun at Ravichandran Ashwin. He wrote:

“Where are you my love @ashwinravi99. no calls no texts koi or hai kya aapki life mein? (is there anyone else in your life?)”

To this, Ashwin replied:

“Thought I would just quietly blend in. I am here now.”

Chahal continued the banter saying:

“AAP pink mein cutie lagoge (You will look cute in pink).”

Ravichandran Ashwin came up with a cheeky response and asked:

“Blue cap vaapas de Doon? (should i give back my blue cap).”

Yuzvendra Chahal announces that he will be the captain for RR in IPL 2022

Surprisingly, the 31-year-old announced himself as the new skipper of the franchise ahead of the 2022 edition.

“Meet new RR captain @yuzi_chahal,” he wrote.

Yuzvendra Chahal further demanded the fans to retweet the new post 10,000 times. If they do so, then he will open the innings for the franchise with ‘uncle’ Jos Buttler. He wrote”

“10000 Retweets and He will open with @josbuttler uncle.”

Meanwhile, Chahal will be an integral part of Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming season as they chase their second IPL trophy. So far, he has played 114 matches in which he managed to scalp a total of 139 wickets at an economy of 7.59 runs per over.
