Wriddhiman Saha has commenced his batting practice ahead of the 4 match Test series against Australia. The keeper-batsman has been included in India’s Test squad alongside Rishabh Pant as a specialist wicket-keeper. Saha sustained a hamstring injury will playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020

Before his injury, Saha looked in prolific batting form and played an integral role in taking SRH to the playoffs. Unfortunately, he injured himself during a match and couldn’t feature in the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 for SRH. It was assumed that Saha may take time to recuperate and he might miss the Test series against Australia.

Now, the Indian team has got a great lift after Saha was seen batting during the nets in Australia. Saha has travelled with team India and took part in the net session where he was spotted facing throwdowns from left-arm specialist Nuwan Seneviratne and Indian right-arm bowler Dayananda Guarani.

Meanwhile, Wriddhiman Saha is known for his immaculate glove work and handy batting which has made him a regular in India’s Test squad at home. However, Rishabh Pant has always been picked ahead of him whenever India has toured overseas. Pant has been outstanding with the bat and has slammed Test centuries in England and Australia.

Nevertheless, Saha will be always in the minds of the team management if Pant fails during the Tests against Australia. The wicket-keeper batsman from Bengal has loads of experience and can come good even outside India. Thus far, Wriddhiman Saha has represented India in a total of 37 Test matches in which he has accumulated 1238 runs. He averages 30.2 and has scored 3 centuries and 5 fifties in his career.
