During the ongoing Test series between India and England, young Indian cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal shared an emotional moment with one of his most devoted supporters, 12-year-old Ravi, a visually impaired fan. The special interaction took place at Edgbaston, where India is currently competing in the second Test.
Ravi, who has been passionately following Team India since the Leeds Test, had one heartfelt wish: to meet his cricketing idol, Jaiswal. When that wish came true, it led to a touching exchange that captured the hearts of cricket fans across the globe.
A Gift From the Heart
Moved by Ravi’s dedication and love for the game, Yashasvi Jaiswal gifted him a signed bat inscribed with the words, “With best wishes to Ravi with care and love.”
The meeting was shared by the BCCI through a heartwarming video in which Jaiswal greeted Ravi warmly and admitted that he himself was a bit nervous to meet such a special fan. Jaiswal then handed over the bat as a token of appreciation, saying, “I have a gift for you—my bat. I would like you to keep it as a memory from me.” Ravi was clearly touched and responded with joy, thanking the cricketer and calling him the future of Indian cricket.

Inspiring Words and Shared Passion
Despite his visual impairment, Ravi’s understanding and enthusiasm for cricket amazed Jaiswal. Ravi expressed deep admiration for the young batsman’s centuries and consistency, saying he always supports and follows him.
He shared how meaningful the moment was, not only because he got to meet his favourite player, but also because of the personal gift he received.
“I love watching you play. Your centuries were brilliant. On your day, you can score big,” Ravi said, full of excitement and encouragement.
Jaiswal’s warm and genuine interaction with Ravi not only fulfilled a young fan’s dream but also highlighted the power of sport to connect people beyond physical limitations. The bond formed between the two during this brief yet powerful meeting is a testament to the role athletes can play in inspiring and uplifting lives, especially among differently-abled fans who find hope and happiness through their sporting heroes.
