Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from international cricket exactly seven years ago on November 16, 2013. He played his 200th and last Test match of his career at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai before announcing retirement from the game he played for 24 long years.

Sachin’s mom was also present at the iconic stadium to watch him play as well. Meanwhile, former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh posted an emotional message on the eighth anniversary of Tendulkar’s retirement. having made his debut in 2000, Yuvraj played alongside Sachin for 13 years before the Little Master announced his retirement.

“This iconic day will never be forgotten ! U might have retired on the field but u will never retire from our hearts the greatest of all-time master blaster!!!,” Yuvraj said in his tweet on Tuesday.

Celebrating his seventh anniversary since retiring from the game he loved, Sachin Tendulkar paid a special tribute to his good friend Brian Lara who had gifted him a steel drum after his retirement.

Sachin Tendulkar’s career spanned over 24 years in which he broke a plethora of records. Besides scoring the most number of runs in international cricket and hitting the most centuries, Tendulkar has also played the most number of Test matches and ODI games as well.

The Little Master ended with 200 Test matches and 463 ODI games. He scored 74 in his last Test innings and 52 in his last ODI. Indian skipper Virat Kohli hit his highest ODI score in the same match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup in 2012. Tendulkar scored fifties in his last Test and ODI matches and India ended up winning both of them.

“Time has flown by quickly, but the memories you have left with me, will always be with me forever and ever and especially the chant of ‘Sachin Sachin’ which will reverberate in my ears till I stop breathing,” Tendulkar said in his memorable farewell speech after his last game.
