When One Day Internationals started in 1971 scoring a century in 60 over format was considered a huge milestone, there were not many players who were able to score a hundred in limited over format at that time. Things evolved fast and 60 over was reduced to 50 over and now scoring a century in just a benchmark, not a milestone.
Because with Sachin Tendulkar scoring a double hundred in ODI the double century has become a milestone that every batsman wants to achieve. So far only 6 players have scored a double hundred in ODI and we have witnessed a total of 8 of them.
Out of which Rohit Sharma is the only player with 3 double hundreds in ODI. Let us take a look at the 5 highest individual scores in the 50-over format:
5. 210* | Fakhar Zaman (Pakistan) v/s Zimbabwe, Bulawayo (2018)
Another player on the list to smash Zimbabwean bowlers. Pakistani Fakhar Zaman scored an unbeaten double century against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo. Pakistan only lost 1 wicket in this match while scoring 399 runs that too at the score of 304
Fakhar Zaman scored 210 runs off 156 balls hitting 24 fours and 5 sixes and the strike rate was 134.61. Pakistan won the match very comfortably as Zimbabwe got all out at the score of just 155 runs.
