Virat Kohli has always brought his A-game when he has faced his favourite opponents Australia in their backyard. It was in Australia when he scored his maiden Test ton and ever since he has never looked back. The Indian captain is now on the brink of creating a special batting milestone in Australia.

Kohli will be 7 matches against Australia which includes 3 ODIs and T20Is and the pink ball Test at Adelaide. So far in his career, Kohli has smashed 9 international hundreds in Australia across all formats. The 32-year-old has made 6 Test and 3 ODI centuries respectively down under against the Aussies.

Now if Kohli can score another century in the upcoming tour he will become the first overseas batsman to hit 10 international centuries in Australia against the hosts. Presently Kohli is level with former England batsman Jack Hobbs who has nine centuries against Australia in Test matches.

The Indian captain now has a golden opportunity to break yet another batting record that will place him ahead of everyone. Overall Kohli has 11 tons in Australia as he has also made a century in the ICC world cup against Pakistan in 2015 and his iconic 133* against Sri Lanka at Hobart.

Specifically, against Australia who is considered the toughest opponents, Kohli just needs one more three-digit score to reach the pinnacle. Also if Kohli scores another ton at Adelaide in the pink ball Test he will break the record of Sachin Tendulkar. At present Kohli and Tendulkar, both have scored 6 Test centuries in Australia which the joint-most by any Asian batsman.

Since his debut, the Australian tour has been memorable for Kohli and he will be keen on scoring another century and create yet another batting record. Furthermore, Kohli thus far has scored 70 international centuries in combined formats and is only behind Ricky Ponting and Tendulkar. Another century in the upcoming tour against Australia, Kohli will join Ponting at the second spot with 71 centuries.
