In the World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand, two days of complete play has been lost due to rain. The start of day 5 was also delayed because of light drizzle. Social media is buzzing with memes trolling the ICC for scheduling the finals in England.
Michael Vaughan’s tweet regarding the World Test Championship Final has upset the Indian fans on social media. Vaughan took a jibe at the Indian team by tweeting, that the New Zealand team would have won by now if the match was played up in the north.
Vaughan wrote on Twitter:
If this #worldtestchampionshipfinal been played up north they wouldn’t have missed a minutes play … #Justsaying #INDvsNZ !! NZ would have been champions by now.

Michael Vaughan faced a lot of backlash for his tweet from Indian fans. Here are some of the reactions:
Had the mockery of a World Cup final wasn't made in 2019, NZ would have been world champions. #OnOn

The guilt of the Englishmen for being declared as Winners for a Tied World up Final is showing up. Supporting NZ now will never change the fact that the cup should have been shared then.

India fight back in the morning session of day 5
India fights back in the first session on Day 5 of the World Test Championship against New Zealand. The Indian bowling attack picked up three wickets in the session and gave away only 34 runs. Shubman gill took a sublime catch to Ross Taylor on 11 off Mohammed Shami’s bowling.
Henry Nicholls then edged one to Rohit Sharma in the slips for 7 runs. Very soon, BJ Watling was cleaned up by Shami ending the session at 135/5 for the Kiwis. Kane Williamson (19*) and Colin De Grandhomme (0*) will resume the match after the lunch break. New Zealand are still trailing by 82 runs in the second innings of this test match.
With 5 sessions remaining in the game, India will look to bowl New Zealand out as early as possible to further consolidate their position in the match. For the Kiwis, their skipper Kane Williamson will have to hold the batting together along with Colin de Grandhomme to avoid collapse from this situation and also accumulate as many runs as they can to push for a win.
