Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Andre Russell is not having an ideal IPL 2021 so far. However, by his own admission things can turn pretty quickly with that one knock that he waiting to play. He has scored 163 runs in the first seven games for the franchise and took seven wickets as well. He has scored a best of 54 against CSK. KKR are placed sixth in the points table with four points from their first seven games.

While speaking to KKR’s official website, Andre Russell opened up on playing at the Eden Gardens. In a video shot by the franchise on him, Russell has spoken about how he feels heading into this IPL season and how does he look at the remaining seven games of the season for the franchise.

I Miss Playing At Eden Gardens: Andre Russell

“I miss playing in front of crowds and especially Eden, where I know thousands of people got your back. That keeps me going. And it brings out the fire inside. The loud cheer, even before I face the first ball when I start running onto the crease, those vibes are unreal,” Russell said in the KKR’s latest release called Russell: The Knight of Eden.

In the video, Andre Russell looked back at his 2018 season with the franchise and said that he wants to make a comeback like that in this season as well. He further said that staying away from home adds to the pressure that the IPL brings.

“Being away from the game for a year, you know a lot of people doubted that I would come back and do the same thing. And I say you know what, this is the big moment. And good players shine in the big games. Three months before the ban lifted, I went on beast mode, getting stronger, losing weight. I came back in 2018 in a good season for KKR,” Russell recalled.

Russell rounded off by saying that he wants the franchise to win the trophy badly. He was a part of the KKR squad which won its second title under Gautam Gambhir’s leadership back in 2014.
