Anuj Rawat Takes A Steepler To Dismiss Abdul Samad In Match 28

Playing his very first match for Rajasthan Royals, Anuj Rawat took three catches and contributed in the process of a Royals win in Delhi. His third catch was that of Abdul Samad. His previous two catches were off Jonny Bairstow and Mohammed Nabi. This win takes Royals to four points and above KKR in the points table.

In their quest to chase down 221, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost wickets at regular intervals. They also dropped David Warner from the playing lineup after sacking him as captain. Kane Williamson, SRH’s newly appointed skipper scored 20 off 21 deliveries as his innings hardly gave any momentum to the SRH innings.

It was the third ball of the 17th over when Samad chanced his arm but was undone by Anuj Rawat’s brilliance. It was a slower delivery from Chris Morris which was sliced up in the air by Samad. He took a brilliant catch running backwards from cover. The replay showed how good that was from Rawat. He did so well to ensure the ball didn’t pop out when the elbows hit the ground.

Royals Beat SRH By 55 Ruuns

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 55 runs. It is a big margin of a win for the Royals given that five teams are battling for the fourth position to get to the playoffs.

The win for the Royals was set up by Jos Buttler’s 124 off 64 balls and then was completed by their bowlers. Mustafizur Rahman and Chris Morris took three wickets each as they broke the backbone of the SRH chase.

The Royals have now moved upto the fifth position in the points table and replaced KKR who have dropped down to the seventh position.

Meanwhile, thigs are getting messy for the Sunrisers after they dropped David Warner as captain and replaced him with Kane Williamson. Warner’s presence in the batting lineup was badly missed by the franchise in this particular game. This loss further slides the team with a lot of work left to be done in the second half of the season.
