Cricket Australia’s announcement to tour Pakistan in the month of March-April could see their players miss the first couple of matches in IPL 2022. As per reports, the 15th edition of the cash-rich league is expected to start on March 27.

As per reports in Cricbuzz, the visiting players have to stay in isolation for 5 days. The Australia tour of Pakistan ends on April 5 and the Aussie players will not be able to participate in the first two weeks of IPL.

As per the schedule, the Pat Cummins-led side will land in Pakistan in February. The three-match Test series will be played from March 4 to 25 while the three ODIs will be played on March 29, 31 and April 2. The one-off T20I will be played on April 5.

The franchises will have their eyes on Australia’s schedule before they head to the IPL 2022 mega auction, scheduled on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru.

Australia are yet to name their squad for the landmark tour of Pakistan but Test captain Pat Cummins has asserted it will be close to a full-strength squad.

“I think we’ll get close to a full-strength squad. There is still a little bit of work to do. We have received a lot of information and it has been great. All the pre-tour security and biosecurity work has been done and it’s been fantastic,” Cummins said a couple of days back.

“There are a couple of players still keen to get a bit more information but everyone is really pumped and feeling relatively comfortable. If anyone doesn’t make the tour it is absolutely okay, we will back them for sure,” he added.
