BCCI Announces Dream11 As Lead Sponsor For Indian Cricket Team

The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the fantasy sports platform Dream11 as the lead sponsor of the Indian Cricket Team on Saturday, June 1. Dream11 signed a contract for three years and will be replacing Byju’s as the lead sponsor. Byju’s contract ended in March earlier this year, and they decided against renewing the deal.

Dream11 will be Team India’s lead sponsor, starting from the upcoming multi-format tour of the West Indies, which kicks off on July 12. Announcing the deal, the Board of Control for Cricket in India released a statement. They wrote, “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is pleased to announce Dream11, India’s biggest fantasy sports gaming platform as Team India’s lead sponsor for the period of three years.”

“Dream11 will be seen on Team India jerseys starting from the Test series against the West Indies, the team’s first assignment in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle,” they added.

Roger Binny welcomes Dream11 on board

BCCI President Roger Binny congratulated the company for the deal and welcomed them on board. He expressed that the partnership will elevate the fan engagement experience in India. In the statement released by the board, Binny stated,

“I congratulate Dream11 and welcome them on board again. From being BCCI’s official sponsor to now being the lead sponsor, the BCCI-Dream11 partnership has grown from strength to strength. It is a direct testament to the trust, value, potential and growth that Indian Cricket offers. As we prepare to host the ICC World Cup later this year, enhancing fan experience is among our top priorities.  I am confident that this partnership will help us elevate the fan engagement experience.”

Meanwhile, Team India will be playing a two-match Test series against West Indies from July 12. The likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Mohammed Siraj, and KS Bharat have departed from India, and will soon begin training. Meanwhile, skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are currently on vacation and will join the team soon.
