Even Chris Gayle looked impressed with the way Sanju Samson batted last night and almost pulled off a famous win in IPL 2021. The match between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals was one for the ages as we saw batting of the highest order. In the run chase, while chasing an immense target of 222 runs, RR lost 2 early wickets and they needed something special for skipper Samson.

On his IPL captaincy debut, Samson looked determined to produce and special knock and take his team closer to the target. He did just that as he elegantly smashed sixes at will to all parts and created panic for the Punjab Kings side. The KL Rahul led side seemed clueless as Samson was producing when of the all-time great knocks in the IPL.

When Samson was putting on a show, Gayle hilariously tried to intimidate him which was captured on camera. Gayle is the ultimate showman who had fun with Samson as if he was telling him to get out so that his side can win. It brought a smile to Samson’s face during a tense situation and Gayle quickly went away but this video became of the highlights of the game.

Meanwhile, Gayle’s antics didn’t bother Samson and he continued to take his side closer to victory. It all came down on the last ball when RR needed 5 to win with Arshdeep Singh bowling to Samson. Unfortunately for RR for once Samson mistimed a shot and was caught at the boundary and Punjab Kings escaped and won by 4 runs. Nevertheless, it was an outstanding knock from Samson as he made 119 runs at a strike rate of 188 with 12 boundaries and 7 sixes.
