IPL 2020: Chris Gayle Will Be A Part Of Playing XI Very Soon – Wasim Jaffer

One strange thing that happened when this year’s Indian Premier League began was that the tournament started without the Universe Boss. The greatest T20 player in the history of T20 cricket failed to make it to the first playing Xi of the Kings XI Punjab side. They went ahead with KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal as their openers and they have indeed paid the dividends to the Punjab based franchise.

Moreover, both openers have scored a century each in this Indian Premier League which is why the inclusion of Chris Gayle is not even being considered here by the Kings XI Punjab side. On the other hand, their other overseas contingent has also been performing well with the likes of Nicholas Pooran and Glenn Maxwell it just helps KXIP with the balance of the side.

With the fans in question about when we’re likely to see the universe boss in action, The Kings XI Punjab batting coach Wasim Jaffer gave an update about his return in a recent interview with PTI.

Chris Gayle to feature very soon: Wasim Jaffer

According to Wasim Jaffer, the return of Chris Gayle will happen very soon. As they don’t want to bring him in when every game is a must-win game for Kings Xi Punjab. Which is why he’s confirmed that we will soon see the likes of Chris Gayle feature for them very soon.

“It should happen soon. As I said, it needs to happen sooner than later. We don’t want to bring them when every game is a must-win game. Hopefully, we will have those guys featuring soon,” Jaffer told news agency PTI from Dubai.

Wasim Jaffer further went on to add that Chris looks in fine form and is very eager to get going for the franchise this season. Jaffer feels Chris is an impact player which is why we all know what he’s capable of doing. He hopes that as soon as Chris Gayle is included in the side he will change Punjab’s fortunes this season.

“Chris looks very much ready and is keen to get on to the park, he has been training really well and has looked really good in the nets, He is such an impact player, we all know what he can do. I hope he turns up and turns it on the straightaway and changes the tide for all of us. He looks hungry and that is a very good sign for the franchise,” Wasim Jaffer said.
