Team India head coach Rahul Dravid heaped praise on batter Suryakumar Yadav following his outstanding knock against Sri Lanka in the third T20I on Saturday, January 7 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. The flamboyant batter slammed his third T20I century, powering India to a series win. Rahul Dravid expressed that every time he feels that he hasn’t seen a better T20 knock, Suryakumar Yadav pulls off an even better performance.

The 32-year-old has been in terrific form for India in white-ball cricket over the last year. On Saturday, he smashed seven boundaries and nine sixes, to score 112 runs off just 51 deliveries. In a video shared by the BCCI, head coach Rahul Dravid engaged in an interesting conversation with the centurion following India’s 91 runs win in the third T20I. Rahul Dravid said,

“I have someone here with me, who I am sure, as a young kid, didn’t watch me bat. And I hope you did. Surya, exceptional. Just the form you have been in. Every time, I think I haven’t seen a better T20 inning, you show us something even better.”

I go in to bat and express myself as much as possible: Suryakumar Yadav

Team India batter Suryakumar Yadav expressed that he enjoys batting in difficult situations. He added that he tries to express himself as much as possible on the field, which works for him as well as the team. When asked by Rahul Dravid to pick one or two of his best knocks, the Mumbai cricketer said,

“I enjoyed batting in all the difficult situations. I can’t pick anyone inning. It is actually difficult to pick one, I just enjoyed myself. I am just doing the same things that I did last year. I have said before as well, I just try and enjoy when I go in to bat and express myself as much as possible. In those difficult situations when other teams try and take the game off, I try and take them on. If it works well for me and the team, I am happy.”
