Veteran Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spinner Harbhajan Singh is likely to miss IPL 2020 owing to personal reasons. It will be a massive blow to Chennai, who are already without the service of Suresh Raina.

Incidentally, Harbhajan had skipped the training camp in Chennai and also didn’t fly with the team on August 21. The Super Kings had organised a camp at MA Chidambaram Stadium from August 16 for the Indian cricketers.

Harbhajan chose to stay with his family in the wake of his mother’s deteriorating health. He also didn’t fly with the entire squad on August 21. While Chennai Super Kings had earlier quashed reports of Harbhajan Singh missing IPL 2020, recent development states otherwise.

Speaking to ANI, a person in the know-how of the development said he is likely to intimidate the franchise by today or tomorrow. However, Chennai has been asked to prepare for a scenario where they miss Harbhajan’s service.

“He has not sent in any official communication and that is expected by today evening or tomorrow. But the team management has been told to prepare for the scenario wherein they may miss his services,” the source said to ANI.

With Suresh Raina already out, it will be a massive blow to the three-time champions if Harbhajan pulls out the cash-rich league. Harbhajan Singh boasts a decent record in IPL with 150 wickets at an average of 26.44, with the best bowling figures of five for 18.

Speaking about the camp, Chennai Super Kings finally got some respite after a difficult couple of days. All the other members of the squad have tested COVID-19 negative and if the results turn negative once again on September 4; they can resume training. MS Dhoni-led Chennai are the only squad who are yet to begin their training for IPL 2020.
