“I Just Cannot Describe In Words” Dinesh Karthik On His WTC Commentary Stint

Wicket-Keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has represented India in more than 150 International matches across formats. He is at present, not in the scheme of things for India in the longest format of the game.

In the recent ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand, Dinesh Karthik was representing the commentary panel. He was only one of the two Indians in the panel with the other being Sunil Gavaskar. The panel had likes of Ian Bishop, Isa Guha, Nasser Hussain, and Michael Atherton but this wicket-keeper batsman impressed one and all.

Dinesh Karthik earned a lot of praise on social media by fans for his funny takes and excellent game analysis during the World Test Championship final.

Karthik has shared an emotional and heartfelt video for his fans on his Instagram account. Dinesh Karthik captioned it:

“This one, I just cannot describe in words… I started this journey to experience the other side of cricket and wanted to share the journey with y’all too… and the love and appreciation I got from everyone just made everything worth it! Love you all!”, Karthik thanked his fans for all the love that he has received throughout this commentary stint.

Dinesh Karthik in commentary panel for The Hundred

Dinesh Karthik will be a part of the commentary panel for The Hundred. The Hundred, a 100-ball-an-innings tournament and is all set to start from July 21.

Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma from India have signed up for the tournament.

Meanwhile, the wicket-keeper batsman last represented India in the 2019 World Cup. He is still hopeful about making a comeback at least in T20 cricket.

“100%. I think if you go by my stats, in domestic cricket, in the IPL, in T20Is – I’m very confident and I genuinely believe I should be there in the team. The rest is up to the selectors and the think tank to obviously pick the team. I believe I can contribute to this team in the middle order and I’m looking forward to showcasing my skills in the T20 format,” said Karthik in an interaction with Sportskeeda.
