“I Will Not Get Married Until Virat Scores His 71st’ – Fan’s Placard On Virat Kohli Goes Viral

Virat Kohli’s flamboyant batting and off-field persona have won him many fans all over the world. The die-hard supporters are always present in the stands, cheering the former Indian skipper.

Virat Kohli is often compared to all-time greats because of his consistent batting performance. However, over the past few years, the right-hander has not been able to score an international century.

His previous hundred came against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, back in 2019. The 33-year old is playing his 100th test for India at Mohali against Sri Lanka. During the course of the match, a fan caught everyone’s attention. He carried, “I will not get married until Virat gets his 71st” placard.

Virat Kohli was dismissed for 45 runs off 76 deliveries, in his milestone test match. He came out to bat after the fall of Mayank Agarwal’s wicket.

Kohli and Vihari put together a 90-runs stand for the third-wicket before Virat was sent back to the pavilion. Embuldeniya bowled a flighted good length delivery, which missed the outside edge of Kohli’s bat and went on to hit the stumps.

India declared their innings, at 574 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Ravindra Jadeja slammed 175 runs, while Risabh Pant (96 runs) missed out on a hundred.

Virat Kohli admitted that he was nervous before stepping out on the field to play his 100th test match. He became the 12th Indian and 71st cricketer overall to achieve the landmark. While speaking to the press, after the first day’s play against Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli acknowledged that the 100 test match is a special occasion for him.

“Rahul (Dravid) bhai had asked me in the morning how are you feeling? I said to him, I am feeling like I am making my debut all over again. To be honest, I had butterflies in my stomach. It was a special moment and I didn’t realise the magnitude of the occasion till the time things got closer to today and how the presentation ceremony happened. There were people in the stadium today as well; it was a moment which was very, very special. I did feel very nervous before walking out before,” said Kohli in the virtual press conference.
