The Australian bowlers produced a superb bowling display to skittle out India for just 118 in 26 overs during the  2nd One-day International match played at Vizag on 19 March 2023.

Australia captain Steve Smith won the toss and decided to field first. The decision paid off as Mitchell Starc got rid of Shubman Gill in the very first over caught by Marnus Labuschagne at a backward point. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli showed intent to keep the scoreboard ticking with some lovely shots to put pressure on Australian bowling.

Starc got two quick wickets off successive deliveries dismissing Rohit Sharma with a lovely catch by Steve Smith and then Surya Kumar Yadav to leave India in trouble.

Starc struck again to get rid of inform KL Rahul with a peach of a delivery to leave India in deep trouble. Steve Smith produced a one-handed catch dismissing Hardik Pandya. The incident took place during the 10th over with Sean Abbott the bowler. Steve Smith dived and took a stunner leaving the Indian crowd in silence.

It was a brilliant bowling effort by the Australian bowlers picking wickets at regular intervals. Nathan Ellis got rid of well-set Virat Kohli and then Ravindra Jadeja to leave India in tatters. Sean Abbott struck again twice in the same over getting the wickets of Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Shami.

Axar Patel provided some entertainment with 2 sixes off Mitchell Starc. Mitchell Starc then castled the stumps of Mohammed Siraj to bowl out India for just 117 in 26 overs. Starc create enough doubts on the Indian batters picking 5 wickets for 53 in 8 overs while Sean Abbott took 3 wickets while Nathan Ellis grabbed 2.

Australia favourites to level the series

The Australian batters will be looking to chase this modest target with Mitchell Marsh in fine form with 81 runs in the opening ODI. Mitchell Starc created the same impact in the opening One-day international match at Mumbai.

Starc grabbed wickets of Virat Kohli, Surya Kumar Yadav, and Shubman Gill in the first ODI and also produced a superb opening spell in the 2nd ODI also to break the backbone of the Indian batting lineup.
