Chennai Super Kings succumbed to their seventh loss in this IPL campaign after losing to Rajasthan Royals in Abu Dhabi on Monday (October 19). Their chances of qualifying for the playoffs has taken a hit after this loss. After the loss, MS Dhoni has been at the receiving end from various quarters. One of his comments which brought him a lot of criticism was his ‘lack of spark comment’ for the youngsters in the team. Among the people criticising him includes his former Indian teammate Pragyan Ojha, who has called his comments on the youngsters to be unfair.

Talking to Sports Today, Ojha said that if his comments were meant to the senior players in the team that is fine with him. However, if his comments were directed to the youngsters in the team, it’s rather unfair and unfortunate for Dhoni to have said such things.

“Who is the youngster? If he is referring to himself as senior players and he is talking about. Did he mention Ruturaj and Jagadeesan? He must have spoken about Kedar. What I have seen of MS Dhoni is that his messages are very very cryptic,” Pragyan Ojha told Sports Today.

He further said that its impossible to judge someone who has played just one or two games. It is unfair on Dhoni’s part to have said such things if he did.

“I am very sure he is not talking about these two boys because they have just played two games. How can you judge anybody with 1 or 2 games? That will be very unfair. If the statement is about those two boys then it is unfair,” Ojha further added.

MS Dhoni spoke at length on various mistakes the team has made this season and the areas they need to work on in the remaining four games of IPL 2020. He very well agreed that this season they were not up to the mark and did not play according to the CSK standards.

“It’s fair enough [the criticism for not playing youngsters], this season we weren’t there. Maybe we didn’t see as much spark from some of our youngsters. Maybe going forward we bring them in and they play without pressure,” MS Dhoni had said.
