IPL 2021: Match 23 – Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Match Prediction

After a forgettable start, Chennai Super Kings did not take much time to find their rhythm in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. After winning four games straight, MS Dhoni’s side is now formidable in the IPL. SRH and CSK are as distinguishable as chalk and cheese. CSK are riding on their flamboyance and winning the games; on the other hand, SRH are listing out their mistakes, which are pushing them off the cliff.

In their last outing at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, the Yellow Lions thumped Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore by 69 runs; and it was an ode to the service that Ravindra Jadeja had given as an all-rounder. Sir Jadeja assaulted Harshal Patal in the last over, smashed 37 runs off the over. Apart from that, Jadeja was buzzing as a fielder and splintered three wickets for 13 runs.

SRH had their last encounter against Delhi Capitals. The match was competitive; SRH almost chased down the target of 160. But the same script of middle-order failure ceased Hyderabad’s run rate once Jonny Bairstow and David Warner were eliminated from the crease. But Kane Williamson with his resilient knock of unbeaten 66 runs led the match to Super Over. In the Super Over, SRH managed only 7 runs, with Williamson was partnered by captain Warner. The decision made the fans and experts questioning their management for leaving Jonny Bairstow in the dugout.

While CSK are shinning in every department in the IPl 2021, SRH have issues with their batting lineup. SRH have bowlers like Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Khaleel Ahmed, who are restricting opponents with the ball. But their trembling middle-order batters stayed on the pitch only for short times with insignificant contribution.

Jonny Bairstow with 211 runs in five fixtures, is the highest run-getter for SRH, and Faf du Plessis has racked up 214 runs donning the Yellow jersey. CSK’s Deepak Chahar has jolted eight scalps in five outings. In the last IPL in India that happened in 2019, the matches at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi produced runs over 160. The pitch was sporting, and one game went to Super Over.

Match Prediction – Who will win the match?

The two Southern rivals have crossed the sword 18 times, CSK won on 11 occasions, and SRH grabbed four opportunities. SRH also lost the 2018 IPL finals against CSK. SRH’s statistics against CSK will make some fuss at their camp.

CSK are a complete package in the IPL that will come on the field on the back of straight wins. While SRH are coping with the tremors from the past defeats. As both the Orange Army and CSK are set to start their second leg in Delhi, CSK will have the upper hand.
