Pakistan opener Mohammed Rizwan has made his entry into the top 10 ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings. This is the first time that he has featured in the top 10. He was the player of the series against Zimbabwe which has helped him move up the rankings.

The 28-year-old wicketkeeper-batter played two unbeaten knocks of 82 and 91 in the first and third matches that helped him gain five slots to reach 10th position, overtaking the likes of England captain Eoin Morgan and India opener Rohit Sharma. Mohammed Rizwan is the second-highest ranked Pakistan batsman in the list, only behind captain Babar Azam, who is now in third place. He was instrumental in Pakistan’s 2-1 series win over Zimbabwe.

For Zimbabwe, Wesley Madhevere has gained 88 places to reach joint-132nd position after finishing as Zimbabwe’s leading scorer in the series with 89 runs while Craig Ervine has advanced 20 slots to 126th position in the latest update, which also takes into account the last three matches of the Nepal tri-series, won by the hosts.

The ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings see Zimbabwe move up one slot to the 11th position, gaining three points. Pakistan, who needed to sweep the series to maintain their tally, have lost two points but remain fourth on the list. Nepal has moved up one and now occupy the 14th position.

In the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings, Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne’s career-best 244 in the drawn first match of the ICC World Test Championship series has helped him gain seven places and reach 15th position.

Pakistan will be seen in action against Zimbabwe in their two-match Test series starting 29th April. While Sri Lanka will face Bangladesh in the 2nd test match. Both teams will be hoping to get a result this time after salvaging a draw in the first one.
